Beliefs

GOD:  There is only one true and Holy God who is the creator and sustainer of the universe who has provided humankind with a revelation of Himself through the natural world and through His Son, Jesus Christ. God exists in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three are one God coeternal and coequal each executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, 1 Corinthians 8:6, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Colossians 2:9)

THE BIBLE:  The Bible is the Holy Spirit-inspired, infallible and inerrant word of God. The Bible is the final authority on all matters of faith. Outside of the Bible, there are no other scriptures that are inspired by God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21)

JESUS CHRIST:  Jesus Christ is not only the Son of God, but also is God. (John 1:1 & 14, Colossians 2:9).  Jesus Christ was born of a Virgin. The Holy Spirit placed Jesus Christ in the womb of the Virgin Mary. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35). Jesus Christ went to the cross and died a sacrificial, atoning death, and his sacrifice is the only avenue of salvation. (John 14:6, 1 John 5:13, Romans 5:8-9) After his death on the Cross, Jesus fully conquered death and rose on the third day after his crucifixion. (Matthew 28:5, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 2 Timothy 2:8).  Jesus will return to earth at the Second Coming. (Matthew 24:30, Acts 1:11, Titus 2:13).

THE HOLY SPIRIT:  The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment.  He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them until the day of redemption and guides believers into all truth. (John 16; 1 Corinthians 12-14; Ephesians 1:3-6).

MAN:  Man was created in holiness in the likeness and image of God.  He was made under the law, but by willful disobedience, he transgressed the will of God.  Because of this disobedience, all of mankind are sinners and can only be redeemed by repenting and accepting Jesus Christ’s death on the cross as atonement for their sins.  (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:10,23, 6:23; John 3:3; Acts 13:38-39, 4:12; John 3:16; Matthew 25:46; 2 Corinthians 5:1; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10).

SALVATION:  Because of man’s sinful nature, he cannot save himself.  The salvation of sinners is solely by grace through faith in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.  Who by the appointment of God the Father, freely took upon Himself our nature, yet He did not sin.  Christ honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and by His death made a full atonement for all of our sins. (Ephesians 2:8-9 Acts 13:38-39, John 3:16; Matthew 25:46; 2 Corinthians 5:1; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10).

EVANGELISM AND THE CHURCH:  It is the responsibility of the church to fellowship, disciple, baptize, teach and equip the body of Christ.  The church must also provide prayer, worship, and sound preaching of the word of God and honor communion.  The church must also show the love of Christ through kindness acts of compassion in conjunction with compassion for the unsaved and obedience to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ locally and abroad. (Matthew 28:19- 20; Acts 1:6-8; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, Hebrews 10:24-25)
